How far can your keys unlock/lock your doors?

I am somewhat frustrated on the short distance my keys for the M Class can unlock/lock the doors. So I am wondering if this is normal. My previous W211 can unlock/lock my doors even beyond 30 feet. But my 2008 M Class can only do it at not more than 15 ft. Are these the same distance you get with your keys or are my keys faulty? :banghead:

rgds.

I'm pretty certain my keys worked even at 30m, I remember being extremely impressed with the range!

I didn't really measure the distance, just Argah-ration. But i feel that 30m is possible, cos it works from quite far.

my w211 surely can 30m or more. at night can on from far to get the lights to turn on to see where I park.

i think maybe battery? I use the open windows with key function, so i think more "eat" battery. my range dropped compared to when new.

I am sure mine exceeded the 30m range, ever did it from my house which is 4th storey high.

You better send it in to have a check and at the same time can do some destress there :tazzie: hahaa.....

Yes that will kill your key battery. I remember I had to use the manual key to open my door previously because the battery completely ran out. You can just open the key and pop a new battery in though. It's one of those flat circles.

Should be the same key as everyone else. Non-rechargeable as far as I know.

U are rite again!

Lithium "coin" cells(common CR2025, CR2032) are mainly classified as primary cells and are non rechargeable.

Same same as your alkaline cells(your typical AA, AAA, C, D), silver or manganese coin(watches) or zinc air (hearing aids)

Secondary cells like Nickel Metal Hydride Rounds & Buttons, Lithium Ion, Lithium Polymer and a few rare types of Lithium coin are rechargeable.

Any U kakies have problem finding a replacement battery for your personal use, Unker might be of help to U at no charges. :yumyum:
