DIY-Changing cabin filter for A/CLA/GLA

Do you smell something sourish upon start up? Time to change the cabin filter....only 2-3 min job. I usually change it every 10k km

Bought a new cabin (aircon) filter from Goldenlink for $72.

1) lift the floor carpet below the glove compartment.

2) remove the filter cover above the start/stop aux batt...directly behind the glove compartment.

3) remove the old filter by pulling it out.

4) insert the new filter in the same format as old one.

5) put back the cover.

Voila! Job done & car smell new again.

It's called the aircon coil or condenser coil. Yes...this needs to be serviced every now & then....usually every 40-50k km. But to reach this coil for cleaning the whole dashboard needs to be removed. It's a 2 day job. So it's not routinely done unless the aircon kaput. The conventional way of spraying Sonax cleaner onto the coil is at best a temporary solution.
