W204 overheating

looking for advice.....

my 2008 w204 is feverish....

just changed all the hoses, radiator, water pump, spare coolant tank and thermostat but water still coming out from the "spare" radiator tank.

Story goes like this.

was travelling at 170 to 180km an hour in NS highway. temp was ok after the change of the "almost complete cooling system". was travelling at this speed for an hour or more, slowed down subsequently due to jam for 10 minutes. pick up speed again thereafter and when it reached 160km/hr. tp up coolant msg came out. coolant was coming out of the spare coolant tank. top up water and continue my way to KL. otw back travelled at 120 to 130km/hr, everything was fine. even yesterday and today while traveeling in Spore, temp was ok.

anyone can enlighten me? Thanks

After the change did you check the coolant level?

After the changes, you need to run the car or at least leave it idling for awhile to let the coolant flow throughout the system.

Check the coolant tank and if need to, top up coolant!

Meanwhile monitor your coolant tank to see if there are further drop in coolant level.

If that happen, go send to a workshop again to check.

If your coolant level doesn't drop, that explain the above,

Thanks for the kind reply. worhshop had done the above... and everything is fine.

Went up to KL last friday again. Travelling on cruise control 140km/hr, water spill out of the coolant tank again after 1 hour and causing the top up coolant msg to appear again. Stop at the shoulder and top up water, merely a 500ml after the engine cool off. continue at 120km for the rest of the journey. everything was fine.

otw back last night, everything was normal as i did not exceed the 130km mark. only problem is falling asleep at this speed....

it seems that the car coolant will only spill out if speed exceeds 130km. any further advice? Thanks....

Doesn't seems right!

Go to a "reliable & trustworthy" workshop to relook at the parts you have changed especially "water pump " & or Thermostat.
