car stalled afer pump petrol

Recommended Posts

Hi bros out there...

yesterday i had a freak incident.

went to pump petrol at SPC (98) and upon driving out, the car jerked and in "spasm" after moving on for a short distance. After a while, it stalled. Tried to crank but failed. After a short while, it managed to crank up and move but still jerking. Luckily my home is not too far away and managed to reach home.

called my SE whats wrong with my new car (3 weeks old) and he told me suspected water in petrol and caused misfired thus the jerking. Told me to rest the car for 10-15min and tried to crank up again. If sounds and feels ok, drive out and rev the car hard for a while (probably to "dry up" any water presence?). Now the car seems fine.

Wanted to find out from any bros out there if u have similar incident.

If the SE diagnosis is right, will the water damage the engine in this instance? I reckon it may not be alot of water.. probably a few drops?

Hope to hear some advice and/or experience from other bros.

thanks and cheers

I was thinking, die liao die liao... lol..

eventually everything works as normal thereafter... I never did anything after that too...
