Coolant warning signal

Recommended Posts

this morning, the warning signal came up saying to top up coolant level

the temp gauge is in normal range around 90 while driving

car is 11 months old & only 8900 km covered

is this normal for a 1yr old car ?

i called CC & they said to drive down for them to check

Check if there are any leaks and do a physical check of the coolant reservoir if there's enough coolant. With modern car electronics, could also be a faulty sensor.

Car under warranty, just drive down for C&C to check.

I let my car cool down totally & checked the coolant level.

The coolant level was below the black section of the reservoir.

I wasnt sure at that time if that was the normal level. However, the warning signal never came back on.

I waited a few days til my Service A & mentioned this to CC. They said they will check for leaks etc.

After I got my car back, CC did not mention any findings about the coolant warning. I checked the level & it seems they have topped it up. Nothing was mentioned in the service report.

Anyways, I will certainly have to monitor this.
