New tires recommendation

Recommended Posts

Dear Merc Members,

My E250 is coming to 30K milleage now and C&C recommended to change the tires ...

They quoted 1.7K SGD to replace 4 tires ... I thought I could get a better deal on outside tire shop for this.

Any recommendation bro?

Thanks!

I would think 50k km should be closer to average life span of tyres for this car. Price depends on size but should be $285 to 350 each. 1.7k looks very expensive.

Kellogs, just drive to a any tyre shop outside to get a quote for the similar Tyres & you will be very happy to see the difference in the price. Furthermore there are many better brands selling at a lot cheaper than C&C. Happy shopping & then bring your wife for a nice dinner with the savings.

The brand is continental if remember correctly and the tire size is 18" ... stock e250 from cnc

Continental tyres also must see which model. For the price range C&C is asking, can get 19" staggered setup performance tyres Continential CSC5P, Michelin PSS etc. I highly doubt C&C will provide this range of tyres, probably the normal Continental CSC3 which is overpriced!

ok, just treat it like ur any other ride... last time wat brand u change, where u change, u can go back there change... no worries.

or any tyre shop also ok

Last time  changed at some tire shops in AMK ... not good ... the wheel was not rotated properly and caused a lot of issue ...

I am thinking maybe go to stamford this time ... there is one very near where i live

Thanks Mark for the info.

Is there any recommended brand or any brand would do?

I am looking mostly for comfort on the ride ...

For best performance with comfort....look for Goodyear Eagle F1 A2.

PSS i guess is the Michelin Pilot Super Sports ...

Yes, you're right. I'm on PSS and this is my second set. No regrets, excellent grip and performance. Loses out on ride comfort though, but it's always a very fine balance between performance vs comfort.

Bro Mark ... How much did you pay for the PSS? :)

IIRC

Front: 19" 225/35 $370 each

Rear: 19" 255/30 $410 each

Changed my current set Nov 2015.
