w205 slight jerk/unsmooth gear change?

J&E

Recommended Posts

I believe its a software setting issue,. I read somewhere people complaining about it

I got my W205 in Sep-14, almost 16 mths already only recently I feel the gear change is less smooth

but I reckon in my case could be time for gear box oil change, my mileage already hit 31k

comfort mode tends to upshift very quickly so depending on how you accelerate from 1st to 3rd, it may jerk between 1st & 2nd or 2nd & 3rd

i experienced it at the beginning but I figured out how to engage the gear smoothly after a while

Try Sport mode and you can drag the gears for quite long starting from 2nd

The "slight" will increase and become worst. That happen to my w204. Quite surprise w205 also have this gear 2 to 3 jerks.

I believe it ciuld be transmission software, if that under warranty, go back and retify it asap.

As for my case, no more hope, PI car, cant go back to CnC to have a new w204 software, need to pay 5k upfront first.

Only hope for me is overhaul GB, which also might nt solve the the problem.

is it cos of the way you drive? Like I said if you try to floor the pedal using comfort mode, there will be a 2 to 3 jerk cos it is tuned to upshift quickly. I'm assuming comfort mode means the driver don't intend to chiong and accelerates at normal pace.

No jerk in sports mode

Any other drivers to share their experience?

Nothing to do with how i drive. At any speed, comfort or sports, this infamous gear 2nd to 3rd jerk on w204 will be there on some unlucky person.

Heard Transmission software should be able to solve this. But paying CnC for 5k plus reflash trasmission software another 1k plus i assume.. just forget it. Hhhahaha

Mine on 5G btw.
