Hi guys and gals,

i'm planning on taking a vacation during late march (after the sch holidays) or during april.. and would like your help in choosing.. helping by advising me - costs, accommodation, venues, destination, basically any helpful input is welcomed...

location: either eastern australia (cairns - Brisbane - gold coast - Sydney) OR hong kong + parts of southern china

dates: 2 weeks (tentative) anytime btwn 21st march to 26 april.

number of people: 4 confirmed, pending another 3.

i'm currently unsure of which destination to choose from, but i'm swinging towards aussieland for a driving holiday... also the theme parks are a nice attraction, and mid authem there... will give us a good nice breeze and settings for great phototaking. the group that i'll be going with are mostly 19-22 year olds, very young at heart, with a good spirit and game for many things.. not all of us are interested in a photo taking journey :( but oh well, at least there be sights i dun get to see in sg everyday...

could you peepz advise me?

thanks in advanced, and YES, YOU ARE WELCOME TO JOIN US. :)

Come to melbourne! Accommodation costs will vary greatly depending on what you want to stay in and how close to the city you want to live. I think you can get 50 bucks per night if you stay in some suburb away from the city. Car rental is approx 50 per day for an auto, you might pay less if you rent for longer periods of time.

If you intend to take a driving holiday, I would encourage you to spend a little more and rent a more sporty car and drive across the country, from Sydney to Adelaide for example, so you can enjoy the scenery and check out the country. Australian cities are not interesting at all, Sg is much better, the country is really where all the awesomeness is at. It will be COLD, it's summer now and night temperatures hit 10 degrees, autumn will freeze your balls off if you're unaccustomed to this sort of weather. I strongly encourage you to take a trip to Philips Island and Mount Bathurst, PI is a really good tourist spot, but Mount Bathurst is supposed to be some sort of petrol head's nirvana with fantastic scenery (more to the point, both places have racing circuits). You can check out the great ocean road and the mornington peninsula as well.

Not too sure about theme parks though, movie world and all that are as good as they're gonna get I guess, but other normal theme parks kinda suck.
