my car insurance for my E class is expiring on 27 jan 09 and was told by NTUC that my new premium is now 1200+ (paid S$900 last year) after my 50% NCD and 5% loyalty discount. was recommended to Oliver Ong fr InsureMyCar thru another car forum and he helped me to renew my car insurance at S$700 with Royal and Sun Alliance; savings of S$500 if i renew with NTUC. hv also re-newed my wife's car insurance thru him with S$300 savings (also changed fr ntuc to RSA). he is helpful and offers good advice. an option for everyone.

anyone keen to get quotation on car insurance, can contact Oliver directly.

income is getting very ex for car insurance.

the increase was already in place last yr ( got to know when i tried to renewmy dad's insurance) and despite all the loyalty discount, direct agency discount blah blah blah.... it was abt $400 to $600 more ex than others.

can also try to get AA to qoute. rather competitive

my prior experience in such matters is that contrary to what i used to think - using a broker as middle man usually results in the best deal. i had the same experience with income on the last renewal and my broker got me a better deal.

might want to try liberty insurance for the SLK350 ...

i used to be insured with India Insurance for my W211 ... remembered it was quite reasonable ... definitely less than $900 ...

also for ntuc income, there's an admin fee (15%) for early termination if you sell your car before the expiry date. other insurers like RSA do not have the admin charge. check them out.

I am paying just over $800 for my C200 with 50% ncd and NCD protector with MSIG.

Like as mentioned, typically, it is cheaper to go through a middleman.

I am also with MSIG. That time still give $100 Esso petrol voucher.

Now they give a cash card with $80 value.

I was never with NTUC.

From day 1 when I got my car from C&C the SE put me with AIG and paying a yearly premium of low S$500+ for the last 4 years.

This time round, I think they gone bonkers and increase my premium by >130%.

Siow leow!
