I have e same sentiments but ultimately i think chat groups can be alright as it serves to seek "immediate urgent replies" or TCSS which may not be viable/suitable in a forum context.

What will dilute a forum (especially) further, and i personally not in favour of (but who am i to say right?), would be individuals or small group of individuals starting up a mirror forum.

This only serve to dilute the forum further instead of "creating a more active" forum... in fact, it does more "harm" than generating more forum activity for the "non-mirror" and mirror forum alike.

Maybe due to differences between forum "founders" and/or moderators that these individuals start a mirror... that is how ultimately many forums (other brands) became a "ghost town" because of mirroring, only the well established one remained and usually is the "original" with strong "base".

The 2nd para above, is not applicable to people who start another forum... say, "Convertible MB" forum of "MB Coupe" forum... simply because it is not a mirror but more like a sub or alternative.
