Smoke From Engine Bay

Hi All,
 
I just bght a used 2012 W204 C180 from a car dealer. Everything is okie until today when I smell something pungent while driving. I opened up and traced the smell to the battery area and saw some smoke coming out.

Could someone tell me what's wrong with my ride? Thanks a million.

Smoke from engine bay and pungent smell... likely a major oil leak from a blown head gasket or crack lower engine block, causing oil leak.

The smoke - likely from the leaked oil interacting with the hot exhaust manifold.

Better send ride to hospital for a checkup.

Cents worth but maybe wrong.

Any recent top up of Auto Oil or Engine Oil?

If yes for Auto Oil, possibility over fill.

If yes for engine oil, like what BabyA had said possible head gasket issue

Please bring to ws for checks

Alright guys, got my problem solved.

The smoke was caused by the old battery venting out the fumes, not any oil leak.

This morning car can't start, so I call my regular on site battery guy, he came and replaced the battery. I got the Varta Silver Dynamic AGM for 250. Reasonable price I thought.
