Hit & Run - Car Scratches

Recommended Posts

Yes. Hit and run will require you to make a police report. Insurance company will need your police report before they will entertain hit and run.

This is regardless if any human has been injured, as long as property has been damaged.

touch up sure ugly one because your bumper, the scratch already can see the bumber black rubber

which meant the suface is rough, need to sand it down which meant will affect a bigger area and using touch up paint for a bigger area will sure looks like

sore thumb, since your ride is so new, no choice, need to spend the $$, if not everyday you sure stare at that part till u buay tahan

Yes ... super eyesore and not use to seeing the scratch there ... any workshop and price?

Of course that's provided if you have evidence. I've been through such a case.

Happened June 2014. Lucky my DVR saved me if not the lorry driver would have gotten away. There was a 30cm cut and dent on my bonnet and the right side of the front bumper had a huge crack. Right DRL was also destroyed. Workshop claimed over $10k in damages, including loss of use, before and after repair survey, etc. Case was handed over to TP.

Congrats you managed to fix it! Are you able to tell the difference after the respray? CnC quoted me $600 for respray.

I just got a hit-n-run at a carpark too. Luckily just scratches off my bumper (more than yours) without other damage. My camera managed to catch the culprit's plate. But the sickening thing is that even though I have reported to the police and insurance, I can't claim against him till he "report the accident". This rule has to be a joke! If he hit-n-run, then what's the chance of him reporting the accident even if his insurance chases him? My only hope is for the police to send him a lovely letter.

600? If it's a whole bumper without dent on C class is about 350. Dent cost about 100. ( sorry can't remember the exact rate) for bumper u can opt for half bumper which is 200 I think? But if u got scratch on both side do it one shot.

That is if u go direct to the spray company which CnC outsource to. I sent to him many times so I know his rate.

The world Most dangerous thing is the Vehicle. Its not about the machine weather its slow or fast. Its the person who is controlling it. The driver is the brain of the Machine. Not the machine itself.

If the driver reacts slow even the most powerful ABS(Auto braking system) will not help. The driver has to give the car the command in Order for the car to react. Afterall he is the brain of the car.

Yes ... unfortunately ... this is the exorbitant price by C&C.

Are you staying at a HDB area? If that is a regulation, that is a damn joke. I hope the police can take action ...

Really? I managed to claim third party when they didn't report to the insurance. That's why it's called "hit and run claim", and that's what insurance is for. In any such situations, you only need to report to your own insurance but they won't be involved much. You've to go to a workshop that deals with third party insurance claims. The workshop will claim on your behalf. At least that's what happened for my situation.
