Bro i feel your pain. But theres nothing we can do about it :(

FYI i am very carefull when i get in and out of my old car. Too bad this is not reciprocal.

I try not to park next to lorries and pickups etc but its no guarantee.

These days i am just glad my ride is old, so i just collect afew more dents and send for PDR every 2 years la.

As i said fer me i m glad i m driving an old w204 but it does not excuse their conduct.

My next ride of choice am eyeing a pre-owned 6 series grand coupe.  PRE OWNED has its advantages in our small parking lots lol

another inconsiderate driver. :growl:  :cigar:  :kfu:

door knock sound at 01:04 in the video.

I got my front passenger car door painted chip as a colleague opened door too wide and it hit a ashtray/rubbish metal bin at a shopping mall for lunch.

The bin fell.......

However this colleague did not feel anything....but I could not sleep well for a few nights...

The damage is still there as I did not repaint cos C&C will have to respray the entire door.....

As a driver myself, I will ensure my hand hold the edge of the car door when I open my car, to prevent my door edge hit the other cars.

I noted some drivers install transparent door bumper guards at the side of the car door which look better than those conventional black ones or use Paint Protection Scratch Film Vinyl Sheet as some form of protection.

I have had doors banged into my ride even when I'm in the car...

Both times, it's the lady passenger from the car beside and the male driver will raise his hand in apology.

I park my ride carefully with space to spare for the doors of beside rides but it's of no use if people just swing their doors wide open.

What to do... It's a suck thumb situation

Get a humvee or landrover or jeep.  Those kind of safari terrain, Borneo challenge, type AWDs look better when covered in mud and sludge as it fits with their tough guy Indiana Jones persona.

The steel frames are also very tough and can withstand knocks. Even if there are knocks and dents it adds to the tough guy image of the car.

And no need to wash or polish.  Just leave in the rain outside to wash.  Once a year, rinse with clean water. Minimum upkeep :)

I will get this as a retirement vehicle :)
