it's getting harder and harder to get really nice and authentic char kway teow.

I still remembered many many yrs. ago when the Newton Cha Kway Teow was at their original kopi-tiam. The queue is usually long. The guy fried his kway teow in a big kwali with high heat. Like me once sway sway kenna the last plate in the kwali, the cha kway teow becums like chow tah kway teow. ;D ;D ;D

Fatty fried kway teow no more in his old Lavender St. kopi tiam and now also no more at Smith Street food street. Last heard they move to another kopi tiam further down Lavender St. Haven't check that out. Anybody know where they are now?

Newton CKT moved to Serangoon Gdns Food Ctr, opp Chomp Chomp. I find standard drop leow. The fella should retire lah.. I think the heat from the kwali has already done enough damage.. last revealed in the media he had bungalows and merc but that was like eons ago when he was still along bt timah rd.

Hello

I am also a fan of Char Kuay Teow. Tks for all locations. But, have you tried the stall at Pasir Panjang Food Centre? The Char Kuay Teow is served with plenty of vegetable (I like....). Give this a try if you haven't done it before.

Agree that the stall at Serangoon Gdn (originally at Newton circus) is not as it used to be. Standard dropped.
