Fuel pump replacement

APR C180

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

Recently when I start the car or crank the engine, got cranking sound but engine do not start. This happen maybe twice during the past month. Just need to restart the engine again and everything back to normal.

Check on the battery shows that it is still healthy. Workshop advise that maybe the fuel pump need to be replaced as when you crank the engine, fuel is also needed to start the car. The fuel pump was original since day one  and mileage was 80k.

Anyone has this experience before and care to give some advise? Thanks!

Fuel pump is unlikely to cause starting issues. During starting, least fuel required as compared to normal driving or on hard acceleration.  If fuel pump can't deliver the pressure, car can't even move or idle.

For a start, change your crank sensor. Less than $100

not sure if crank sensor as car can still crank as per normal.
