Help!!! Orange Check Engine Light On

Hi all bros,

As per header, any bros here encountered before & what seems to be a problem? Any workshop recommend to rectify? My W204 FL CEL just came on today while in the rain!!! Warranty expired!!!

I got the same problem so i just remove the piggyback and everything is ok.

The Check Engine Light can only be diagnosed by reading the fault code through the diagnostics computer using the OBDII port in your car. Without a proper diagnostics, everything else is just guess work. I also have a piggyback installed, over a year later my Check Engine Light came on. Removed the piggyback and went to C&C to do a diagnostics and they found the fault was due to insufficient oxygen in the system. They eventually traced the error to a leaking air pipe and had it replaced under warranty.

 

To be absolutely sure of the fault, go to a workshop that has an updated Star Diagnostics kit. Nobody here will be able to tell you why you light is on, even the mechanic can't tell you without doing the proper diagnostics first.

Meantime, the light went off by itself this morning after driving few km! Will monitor the next few days & update all!

Sigh just bring it down to mbm and let them figure it out bah, just because the code is gone from your dashboard does not mean problem wont come back. The error code should still be held in the car's ram.
