C Klass Battery Change

aflop

Recommended Posts

Hi Guys,

I think it's high time for me to do a battery change, can anyone reccomend me a place to get it changed?

I've read some threads on those mobile guys, those contacts would be much appreciated as well!

Also, my ride is a Pre-FL W204 C200K, does anyone know which battery i require or what i should look out for when changing batteries? E.g. Voltage, brand etc?

Thanks!

I went chip soon at tampines over the weekend. I got bosch s5. They quoted 250 before gst. It is 80vh. Mine is c180. They can advise over the phone.

Thanks! I see some people use 74vh and now u mentioned 80, which is the right or better one?

Actually 74vh is the original battery power. I dun really know much to advise. But it must also fit the battery space. I saw from another thread that unless u have lots of in car entertainment there is no need to get a higher vh. I have no problem after the change.

talking about battery... how you know when issit time near the time to change? Based on on board message? or use multimeter to test voltage on battery yourself?

recently, i noticed my powersaver for the incar camera keeps cutting off power in about 8 hours despite my setting at 24hrs. This is probably due to low voltage detected by the powersaver. so issit time soon ?

11.9v looks like weak battery. With or without engine running?

Yea, that's because engine was off and electricity still running for 1.5 hours as I was at workshop doing HID conversion.

Bad timing to check on the voltage actually , may give inaccurate results

mine died without any warning message from the car ...

bought car second hand so did not know when to change ... went for check and mechanic say the was ok. daily car started as per normal. One fine day it just died in the MSCP. Lucky my place near a petrol station that has workshop. Replaced the batt and cost $200.00

  • 1 month later...
  • 2 weeks later...

To be on the safe side, change new battery every 2 yrs.

I disagree.   "To be on the safe side", go to Mustafa and buy a cheap jumper cable and keep inside your car.  :)

I changed my first battery when my car was almost 4 years old.  The battery lasted another 3.5 years!

My first battery was the original battery which I guess is a Varta? Cannot remember the brand of the 2nd battery. The 3rd battery is a Korean battery. Both batteries bought from a shop around the Race Course Road area.

My other car Feb 2011 Toyota Alphard is rarely used, only clocked about 13,000 km to-date.

Sometimes it is not used for a week or longer. But last week the battery failed. So there you go - 3.5 years battery life.
