C180 - 2012 Issue

Hi everyone

 

Some issue with my car which I hope to have some advice from fellow forum goers.  Thank you all in advance.

 

1.  After servicing car seem to be a little jerky when moving off - CnC says no issue

2.  Foul smell from aircon when driving above 100km/h - CnC says no issue

3.  Aircon sometimes dripping water at the foot brake area - CnC no issue

4.  Just change all four tyre - CnC charge 300+ a piece.  Outside 190 a piece. Michelin PS 3

     When the tyre man took out the tyre that I have since collecting the ride, all the tyres crack and I was shock that the tyre man at CnC did not inform me when I send my tyre for rotation.

 

Just some of the points that I wish to share and appreciate any advice on mu issue from fellow forum friends.

wah...you seem to have many many issues....

For pt 3, is your AC turned to very cold? You have to send in to cnc, there should be a condensation issue, if not treated you may have a penicilin plant soon.

For pt 4, you have to check with cnc the cause of crack...safety concern. The crack could be due to end of shelf life.......or manufacturer defect....

btw, you send to Pandan Loop?

Ya I service at Pandan and its still under warranty.

 

I highlighted to them about the crack after I change tyre coz the crack is on the innerside.  I ask how come the tyre man doing rotation didn't see?  No ans.

 

Aircon I only turn on very cold once in a while when its very hot and only for a short moment, like 5 mins.

This is my experience, mine is also early 2012 C180K

Issue 2: yes also have it intermittently, normal only faint smell not like in my B170 last time so I don't bother

Issue 3: probably your Aircon setting to cold above the foot parking brake is ducting to rear Aircon vent, during humid day or raining sometime three is condensation there.. I saw condensation then small drip last time for me this one also not an issue.

Never like chane tyre in CnC Robert price, better go to sponsor here.

Thank you for advice.  I got the tyre change at 190 a piece with free rotation.  Just imagine if I change at CnC?  Now I can keep the balance for my next tyre change.

1.  After servicing car seem to be a little jerky when moving off - CnC says no issue (maybe because there was no code which to CnC means no issue, also maybe because to CnC the car drives the way it should, are you more aggressive driver looking for faster response? I would recommend TCU reset and maybe fluid and filter change)

2.  Foul smell from aircon when driving above 100km/h - CnC says no issue (If only above that speed then it can be from the outside enviorment, why would there be a smell at higher speed but not lower? Consider that. Also try changing out the cabin air filter and use a charcoal version.)

(If the crack was on the inside then its likely they didn't see it as rotation is usually between front and rear wheels, not side by side.)

 

Also as a tip, when you use aircon, do not shut off the car immedietly after use. Instead, turn off the a/c and use warm heat for a few minutes to evaporate the condensation off the system to prevent mold build up which is what causes smells.

Mine used to have foul smell but on real hard accelerations.

Like Knight said, try carbon cabin filter.

I also diy another filter before the cabin filter. So in essence 2 layers. There is a diy instruction somewhere in the forum.

Check the date of manufacture of the tyre. More often than not, if all tyres are fresh and they all crack at the same time, then it is a batch problem. This should be highlighted to the manufacturer of the tyre to check and if required, recall the batch, because it becomes a safety issue.

If you check the vagsg forum, there was a time when lots of cracks were discovered from a certain batch of Goodyear Asymmetric tyres. This issue was brought up to the manufacturer and the agent offered to inspect and if required replaced all affected tyres free. I was one of the them and I got 3 of my tyres replaced after the inspection when cracks were found in them. I brought the fourth tyre from them and replace it also for the peace of mind. At the time my tyres were inspected, I already have ran them for around 6 months, but they replaced them without a word.

Actually reply to 1st Gear, you are right when there is no code to them is nothing but the issue is there. 

The foul smell is not from it outside and it happens most times when I hit 100km/h even in other parts of the country.

With the tire check, I think of my local tyre man checks the tire before putting it back on the other side I dun see why CnC can't since they are charging me while my local tire man dun.  Bad service?

I dun think can claim anymore coz my tire all just change.
