Hi all!

I was wondering if anyone has changed their 17" rims to larger ones? If yes, what's the feedback?

Are brakes affected/need to be changed if I were to change to larger rims?

Appreciate any feedback!

Changed my rims to larger ones...mainly to make the car look better IMO. Also to give the car bigger tyres to have better road holding.

Does not mean you have to change the brake kit when you upsize the rims.

Actually I wanted to upgrade to larger rims with low profile tires cos I think it'll look better. Heehee

How big are your rims? Any difference in your car's performance/ Fuel Consumption/etc.?

Larger rims doesnt mean you will need bigger brakes. Usually its the other way round

For W204 the most ideal setup imho would be 19" staggered

FC and pickup would definitely suffer due to heavier rims/unsprung weight

Staggered provide more stability? Thats what i felt, but why stagger any idea?

Hi! That means you can't do wheel rotation, right?? Wouldn't that mean you have to change tires more often??

W212 Changed to 19" Forge Rims. Stagger for better road holding and looks. love the rear 275 setup.

With Forge rims since its lighter, could feel the car respond better when starting off from a complete stop.

As for fuel efficiency, bigger tyres will be higher but couldnt actually feel was it due to tyres or heavy foot on accelerator.

Anyway, once you change to the rims you like, having the "shiok" feeling is the most important.

Hi KisMet,

I have changed mine from 17" to 19" BBS CS5 235/35 few months ago and it really enhanced the look for my C250 Coupe.

Road handling is much better and fuel consumption remain pretty much the same.  Brakes are definitely not affected.

I am changing my ride soon and intend to sell it off.  Looking to trade with someone who has the original rims at a certain price.

PM me with you are interested so that i can share with you more information

heavier wheels sure affect FC... and changing from 17" to 19" means the mileage will differ from the actual reading.... cos bigger rotation...it's estimated that you lose 1km per litre if you change from 17" to 19"... just like me...
