Thank you thank you Gentlemen for your warm welcome...

My weight has neutralized what little power the 230 gives and lower the suspensions even further :yumyum: It does feel a little sluggish now.. wondering if I should tune it up.. Will read up the threads later.

when i test drove this car, i decided that it i would have no other e class. bro i think all u need to do is to step the pedal until u press the magic button at the bottom... when i test drove it at the MB centre, i could feel the power difference compared to the 200, but at the MB driving experience, i think they over "tortured" the workhorse, cuz i noticed that there was a something missing compared to the test drive unit...

Hi as I am new here, a short introduction is as follow.

Age: 15

Likes: Luxurious powerful cars, Sensible Women, Jazz, Classical Music, Classic Rock, All S Class except W220

Hates: People who do not appreciate the technology and science behind Mercedes-Benz and intends to use the car as a means of showcasing one's wealth

As far back as I can ever remember, I have always been an ardent Mercedes fan. I liked the quietness of the cabin, the wood, the leather, the quality and most of all the engineering. I still vividly remember my first ride in a car bearing the three pointed star, a W124 E Class diesel or a taxi as others would call it. Shortly after at the age of 5, I rode in a W210 diesel taxi, being young, I was fascinated with the rear air con louvers. I have since realised that the W210 is a rubbish car since Mercedes-Benz decided during that era that their cars were 'Needlessly Over Engineered'.

I have been in many cars over the years and I still find myself, attracted to the three pointed star. You buy a Volvo or Toyota with you brain but a Mercedes-Benz with your heart, a heart full of passion and love. I secretly enjoy the fact that 97% of the world's Government own an S Class, it is simply a testament to the technological innovations and engineering levels the S Class has attained. I found this club after I decided that since the US and many other countries had a Mercedes club, there should be one in Singapore.

Personally, I have never been in an S Class. :( Anyone willing to give me a ride? My personal favourite would be the W140 followed by the W126. I like how the doors close with a vacuum motor, the sheer size of it and the long distance cruising capabilities it has. It is like spotting a really pretty girl on the road, you do not need to get in bed with her to know that it would be fun. Similarly with the S Class, by looking at it ride, sound and handle, I can safely conclude that it will be a good car.

I have always reserved a seething hatred for any modern American or Malaysian car, they are just built down to a really low price before the accountants decide on a high profit margin and to justify the ludicrous price, they use what they would call 'Brand Awareness Campaigns' or advertisements for short. You end up with a car fit for the scrap yard in 4 years, with no serious engineering and most important of all, lacking panache.

Welcome on board W140.

I have since realised that the W210 is a rubbish car since Mercedes-Benz decided during that era that their cars were 'Needlessly Over Engineered'.

Although the general consensus is that it was manufactured during the era when accountants engineered the car, I wouldn't go as far as to call it rubbish. You might change your opinion when you get to punt it around town.

welcome w140, glad to know there are some other young dudes out there who share the some love and passion that went into the benz-es of our time, and even before.

personally i've always chosen the s class as a goal a car, specifically the s65 amg with all options.

i went down to the mercedes centre to take a seat in the w221 after i drove my friends w220 for 4 days (he was generous enough to use my humble w203 for that duration). the MB driving experience allowed me to throw the s class ard a corner while trail braking with it - it was fun, and it handled like a dream. big car through a corner - passengers feeling nearly nothing.

looking forward to meeting up with u soon - although i cant offer u a ride (maybe in the future)...

Hi W140! Welcome to the club! I don't have your favourite but I do have your 2nd favourite. ;)

Please do come to one of our meet-ups and we can talk at length about all the S-Classes (also my true-love). The next meet-up is THIS SUNDAY 4:30PM at KALLANG CAR PARK F!

Hope to see you there. ;)
