steering veering to left

Hi, just bought a pre owned merc c180 fl from Republic auto. Went for vicom check on my own to get a peace of mind and was told the steering is veering to the left. Car is two years old and is maintained by c&c. The next servicing is Jun 2014. Can brothers here advise whether I can go back to c&c to ask them to rectify? Do I need to hay?

Sorry, I meant do I need to pay?

This is a common issue, do a search in the forum. If The car is still under warranty and with the new lemon law, i dont think you need to pay at all.

Go my new car last year, steering veer left, went to complain, SE says normal, every Mercs like that one. I did not accept the explanation, SE bopian, say they can try to do, but must make next appointment and prepared to leave car for the entire day because need to replace the fix bolts for the alignment bolts before they can start alignment. I said ok, made appointment a week later, got the veer left issue fixed free of charge. Got the car wheel alignment readouts in hardcopy before and after alignment. The readings were greatly improved.

Thanks. Guess will have to resort to telling them to do that.

My SE told me that currently most Mercs are installed with fixed caster bolts direct from Germany because they do not want anyone to screw with the alignment. My car took the whole day at C&C to align, most of the time taken to replace the fixed before they even start the alignment procedures. If only half an hour, then, most probably, nothing was done. Get them to show you the before and after alignment records.

Republic auto workshop cannot fix the problem. They booked an appointment with c&c pandan loop. Was told will have to leave the car there for at least a day or two. Anyone can advise whether they will provide replacement car?

2days to do alignment? :o do a search on my previous post, I did mine within an hour. Car is a moving straight as a ruler till today.

If anyone telling you that our roads are not flat and slanted one side, and is very normal for a car veering to one side, do not believe them!

CnC should able to rectify it at no cost if still within the warranty period.

Sent the car down today and was told to leave the car overnight. Will only be able to collect it tomorrow afternoon. They said high volume and alignment needs time. Well as long as they rectify the issue at no cost to me...One day of inconvenience is still acceptable.

Just an update. Got my car back this afternoon from pandan loop and it is now much better. Even at low speed, without holding on to the steering wheel, the car is travelling straight. At high speed, the need to pull the steering back to right side is negligible. The service centre acknowledged that there was indeed a problem and changed the bolts. Overall happy with the results and a proper closure to this chapter. Republic auto gets my thumbs up for footing the bill without being asked.
