w204 key insert without locking sound - unable to start engine

Just checking if anyone encounter this before, put in the car key and no locking sound and nothing happen, turn key knob and no reaction and cannot start engine. Tried taking key out few times insertion, finally a sound that lock the key and car can then be started. Tried with spare key and encounter the same problem. It is intermittent.

 

Just wonder if anyone had similar problem before? I suspect immobilizer at first but both keys behave the same way. What could be the reason?

Replace remote batt...

If still the same... Maybe u can try search this forum... Green key issue?

Send yiur car back to AD.......

I had this problem. The ignition lock motor spoilt. send back to AD. Cost me about $1k+++ if i remember correctly.

I hope its not the ignition coil and I will change the battery of the remote key to try first.
