Mark, my German fren who is a mod freak told me its just plug and play. However, I've asked Ah Boon he said may need additional computer components to make it work. He is checking. Otherwise, he asked me to buy and let him experiment!

Odessus, that is the Mercedes Bluetooth adapter SAP V4

SAP - Sim Access Profile (allows you to read data from the SIM card of the mobile phone).

This module is connected to the system of Convenience telephony in the Central armrest. Thus you can use the phone via regular Handsfree system - when the phone is in your pocket. The adapter has a SIM card slot. There is also a built-in USB connector for charging a mobile phone and 4 generation supports iPhone.

I still can't figure out what is the diff. bet this adapter and the current stock Bluetooth function.

Any expert out there?

Are you buying for him to experiment? I don't mind splitting the cost etc. Your car is CGI or Kom? Can PM privately if you're keen to experiment with this together.

Errr....did you guys notice that the speedo is in MPH?

I believe that's just a photo Roidman got from somewhere. C63s are being sold in SG with KPH meters.

That's what I heard too. Thanks! I've not tried consulting with Ah Boon yet though.

The last I heard of a successful conversion of AMG instrumental cluster to a non-amg ride was done several years ago on a W211 by MBM.

Beside Ah Boon doing the retrofit, you might get some information from site sponsor camber53 aka Gregory with regards to the coding of the meters to be accepted into your ride. He might have retrofitted his own E350 coupe with AMG instrumental cluster.

He has the Xentry developer software and capable of doing SCN coding.

You also need to transfer all your current information like odometer, settings etc to the new meter. The new meter may have some hidden functions not available on your stock meter which can be turn on by the developer software.

One wrong move might turn your amg cluster into a brick! :)

With regards to using the Bluetooth cradle, you might get some information from here.

Did try asking those you've mentioned. All came back with different answers, "the AMG instrument cluster cannot be fitted to your car" to "it'll void the whole electronics for your car due to the reprogramming" to "we will find out and get back to you". Gonna call Ah Boon next week, will contact MBM about it too. Thanks for the heads up!

Spoke to camber53 - He has done 1 ML & 1 GL Amg instrument cluster retrofit.

Cannot confirmed it can be coded for W204 as he has not done it.

Some hidden menus eg. laptimer, oil pressure, etc might not be able to be activated unless the appropriate sensor are present.

imho - I don't think Ah Boon or camber53 can guranteed that can be done i.e buy 1st they try!

Get married can but cannot gurantee will give birth :)

Take note the max kmhr reading on the amg is iirc is 320km/hr

Cheers

Tks for the ground work!

I too went around askings and few told me that the existing memory must be saved before loading it on the new instr. cluster. Anyway, too technical for my to digest.

I am in the midst of negotiating for a good price for the instr. cluster and getting the guy from Germany to provide me a technical guide to get it fixed.

If the price is good I will try to get it done.

Stay tune!

Mark, ah boon said the programming cost is about 1k plus. So I've decided not to do it.

I know, I was quoted around the same price, and that's just for the programming! Wonder if we can just do this:
