Hi all,

While in traffic light juntion , red light and My 6 mths old W204 was sationery front of a small van. Of of a sudden the the van driver reversed his van very fast and I honked at him but he was going to fast that his back hit my front plate cracked and dented and front bumper dented. He admitted it is his entire fault of course at that time. Asked him to sign and admit that he reversed and hit my front. ( which he did)

My insur is Chartis .

-how my case presumed he admitted his wrong doing vs if he denied it when reporting

-should I sent to cnc Pandan ( they are the primary authoried workshop by theway ) knowing their service level and the high price they charge ,heard that need to pay excess first etc.(but even though I am not at faults?)

-0r can I or should I sent to other authorized workshop that will handle for me hassle free and effectively claim against the van

-what other things I need to take note of , what not to write on the accident report statement that put me in a bad spot etc..

- any kind advise will be appreciated as really a sour or sianz feeling having to go through all this hassle no matter how careful you are in the roads.

Best regards

sorry to hear that.. Best is ask him go report on the accident with you so that you will ensure that he report exactly what happened..

If he did admit and signed something to admit it.... well you can just send to C&C and give them the letter... they will solve everything for u... same story to my pal's 523... joker hit is stationary car and admitted his faults.... signed a letter.... later the joker reversed his claim and said my friend moved his car... and insurance doesn't want to pay... he passed the letter to PML and the rest is history......

Send your car to C&C and give them everything.... but make a copy for urself... just incase....

C&C will not need to collect insurance excess if it is a sure case for them. (sure win for you that is)

In this case, since you have the admission of guilt then no problem le.

If you are nice, you can go to your authorised workshop.

C&C charges like 3-4 times the market rate for simple repairs.

(Personal experience, I went to C&C, the other guy paid through the nose, felt sorry for him.)

I kena once, lorry crushed my grille. What i did was to ask the driver to write the statement cos i was afraid if its my handwriting, and with a fake signature, nothing is valid. Nowadays, first thing we should do is take our handphone out and set to video mode :P

You're dethpicable.

just install a car cam..even a cheapo $50 gmarket one can speak a thousand words in the event an accident happens.

bro xtc is lucky that guy is willing to sign.. what if he refused? cannot 'force' him to sign right?

the story may well end up like our friend rear-ended him.. and have to pay him instead :startle:

Thanks to all bros who replied.

I just hope it turn out well as I expected , as really it is very time consuming affairs and hassle . After this I will installed a car video recorder for a peace of mind as what bros solar advise , you never know when it happens again.

Hi Bro,

sorry to know of your bad accident. My 2 cents worth are as belows:

"generally"  it should be fine since he sign the narration that you drafted. (my assumption that you actually drafted on the spot) Technically it should be a "admission of liability". But there again, I cannot be 100% sure as it depends on how it is worded and also (as some bro have pointed out) any other supporting evidence. If its worded correctly, then it is an admissble evidence and hence you win hands down. Else there will be a probable case to argue.

Hope you win hands down in anyway...

Cheers
