Sucking out Engine Oil vs draining out oil

Some workshops I understand sucks out the engine oil by attaching a hose to the place where the dip stick is and connecting it to a machine. Is this method better than the draining out method where the oil plug below the car is removed to drain out the engine oil from the sump. Pls share your experience and advise. Thanks.

depends on vehicle.... i gotta euro van, workshop use suck out type, i did ask, they told mi that this van model, if open from below, the engine oil cap thing easy spoil, unless my van is cold then can open below.... noramlly if it's warm it's adviseable to use the suck type, if not long run the cap will spoil....

i think most car just open below one nia.... very few model need the suck type. (blame it on the lousy cap)

Just went to a workshop last week to change engine oil and they use a machine to suck out the oil. I asked whether all the oil can be sucked out and was told that 95% will be out. My question is what happens to the 5%? Will it contaminate my new oil? All the workshop that I sent my previous ride to use the drain out method. As I am new to this forum and first time owner of a pre-owned W204, I want to hear our brother's view. Thanks.

Vacuum suck out the oil is a more efficient way to service apparently. There's no need for a service bay where the car has to be hoisted up to drain from below. This way more cars can be serviced at any location of the workshop. IMO, it's as good as draining, but faster.
