Changing To 2008 C180K In A Months TIme!

hi bros & sis,

my very first post here in this fantastic forum :)

am currently driving a BMW E90 323i and in about a months time when my insurance in up for renewal am thinking of changing my ride to a used 2008 c180k

may i know if there are any important points i should take note of at the dealer? and what to check?

My current e90 has really poor millege of just 8.5km/l (50% highway , 50% city) and it definetly drinks a shit load of engine oil!! and not mentioning the jerking gear changes inbetween.. :(

may i check with the bros here if the C180 has the same problem? does it consume engine oil as fast too? and i hope the gear changes are smooth!

by the way.. any chance the owner of this car http://www.sgcarmart.com/used_cars/info.php?ID=298745&DL=1000 is in this forum as well ? :)

thanks all !

rae

Hi

Welcome! Eat engine oil?? Nope!! not for my experience with Mercs. Mercs is best or nothing!! U wont go wrong getting the C class. Apart from wiper judder, air con smell, suspension tok tok sound & slight sluggish for kompressor model.

i can live with the wiper judders , air con smell , and the tok tok sound ! haha

and i dont mind the sluggish performance as long as the FC is reasonably good :)

It's normal for cars to 'eat' some engine oil..and W204 does that too. I can't remember the figure, but it is stated in the manual.

I remember when I was driving my W204 and then suddenly there was a warning something like 'check your engine oil on next refuelling'..and yes..the engine oil level was very low..

During when it was at 10k, I checked EO by chance and was shock to see EO left 1/3 ... since then I always check my EO ... I just checked my W204 EO this morning (abt 5k after 30k servicing), EO like slightly above half mark ... immediately top it up ...

Haha no need to doubt if these issues are getting out of hand this forum will not exist till now!! Enjoy yr new ride. Drive it to NS u will know the money u paid for is worth it.

I had my W203 for 210,000 km without checking engine oil for 8 years other than sending for service every 15000 km. it's the same M271 kompressor engine as the W204 pre FL car.

This engine is very reliable and there is no need to fuss and worry over the engine oil. The engine runs like a dream.

Hopefully so.....hehehehe!!!! :)

Diamler squeezed the M271 engine from 143 bhp in the ML models to the current 204 bhp on the 250 models and threw out the Kompressor for a Turbo....ummmm!!!!...time will tell!!!

The new 1.6L C180 is running on the new code M274 engine and will be the new engine to replace the M271 in the coming new models.

Again....the M274 is also a new engine!!!!....:)

Cheers

I'm a MB Whore! :)
