Road Hogging is an Offence. Many people think that when they are going at the maximum speed limit of the road, they have the right of way.

No doubt, road hogging is an offence.

Travelling above the speed limit and tailgating are equally wrong.

TP wont agree with an explanation about the need to cross the speed limit in order to overtake a road hog.

IMHO.

Given a choice, I'd rather be stuck behind a "hog" than tailed by a "cheetah". :roadrage:

Just cool our tempers and be gracious.

If my memory serves me right, lane 1 is for overtaking only. Once you have overtaken the car you are suppose to move back into lane 2. Thats what I learn from basic/advance theory

Eh, don't like that la.

Last week I was the second car behind a hog travelling 70km/h on lane 1. Meaning the sequence was hog, car A, then me.

Car A finally overtook the hog, and slowed down to 50km/h.

So ppl like me behind, together kena forced to slow down further from 70 to 50km/h

So lets say Person A drives at Lane 1 at 95km/h on expressway with 5 cars behind. And the TP is somewhere 250 m ahead.

He will be caught by TP for speeding and road hogging at the same time??

As for me, if i need to overtake from the left, i just overtake from the left, no big issue i guess.

If someone is driving closely behind me, I will just change lane to another. =)

I decided that i should stop highbeam and horning unnecessary.

Seriously between road hog and speeding, I guess speeding driver will be penalized over road hog.

I got caught for speeding, went down to TP talk to officer, they show me news articles about speeding offences and consequences.

Paid fine, collected demerit points. TP told me to becareful and not to speed. Xiao Di was still "P" plate driver then. That was 9+ years ago.

Sometimes just chill when frustrations get into you. I noticed SG drivers have a bochup attitude. Even if you tailgate them, they will still think that as long I'm doing 90km/h, you have no business that I'm slow. So this leads to other bad behaviour on the road. I see other drivers overtake from left, from lane 4 to 1... Driving even slower / purposely braking for nothing to irritate u when they feel offended by your aggressive driving. Some even think u r trying to race with them... There are just people trying to be funny on the road. Don't get upset over such behaviors. But road hogging is not the way to go man..

every weekday morning, from BKE to SLE to TPE, i try to overtake and speed on lane 1 also dont have the chance.

traffice jam on lane 1 , 2 and 3. sometime, the road hog on lane 1 can make me switch to lane 2 which travel faster than lane 1.

the best part is during the peak hours, those class 5 vehicles r on lane 3. those class 3 lorries, vans and mini bus are travelling happily on lane 2. dont need to say where the remaining sedan will be on the road.

10 years ago, expressway dont have this problem one and TP was so easily spotted. 10 years down the road, TP become an endangered speicies. only during non-peak hours, we see TP on road shoulders catching those speeding 120km/hr.

just met at road hogger in KPE this morning ... travelling at 55km/h ... signalled and started moving to the 2nd lane even when I was coming up at 70km/h on 2nd lane. I ended up having to step on my brakes, high-beamed him .. and he ended up driving on 2 lanes ... still at 55km/h. Simply refused to move back to the left most lane ... continued to move on 2 lanes for about 100m before moving into 2nd lane completely.

1st kayu driver encounter captured on my BlackVue ... :D

Dangerous to be too close to such drivers....

Normally they cause others to get into an accident without even knowing it......

so chill and relax,

the only time i got really pissed recently was when some fucktard hog the road in front of an ambulance with siren on! I purposedly sped up to his back and flashed and flashed until the idiot gets irritated and drove off ( After the ambulance went off to another turning)

U dont need to flash him just take down his VIN and send it to the authorities. I m sure the ambulance comes with black box cam.

I fantasize about being able to launch a missile from my car at the joker in front of me!

the guy who drove in front of the ambulance is silly lor. smart people will drive behind the ambulance. damn shiok esp when there's a traffic jam!

haha then i also will kana your missile cause i always drive behind the ambulance and dun let ppl cut in :P

Just encountered another classic road hog today. The hog was driving 50kmh in a 70kmh zone with the steering wheel one cm away from her chest, looking over the front edge of her bonnet. 20yrs ago I would've horned and scolded her. Now I just change lane and tell myself to calm down...

Gee... a lot of such people nowadays. U did the right thing! no point losing your cool.

Merc drivers are classy and gracious! :) (except on NSH as i've learnt)

yes they do come with black box... and the driver infront is going to be charged in court.... it is considered jailable offence if you hog the road of an ambulance with lights on and siren blaring.... Cos to the govt... a life is at stake...
